POSITION SUMMARY

The Buyer is responsible for executing the day-to-day activities required to support an assigned set of vendors/publishers.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain productive and positive business relationships with assigned suppliers/publishers.

  • Maintain product databases and ensure product and inventory invoice accuracy.

  • Study and interpret sales data and identify patterns/trends that will aid in purchasing decisions.

  • Stay familiar with and educated about current market conditions and trend variations.

  • Manage inventory levels subject to final approval by the Purchasing Manager and/or Executive Vice President.

  • Provide accurate and current product information to sales and marketing.

  • Work with warehouse receivers to resolve discrepancies and miscellaneous issues as they arise.

  • Collaborate closely with department members to aid in best-practice decision-making.

  • Stay current and educated regarding all current and upcoming supplier product offerings.

  • Attend tradeshows and visit vendor locations as assigned.

  • Complete all other reports, projects and tasks as assigned.

 

JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Work experience in purchasing, supply management or an equivalent field.

  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that demands flexibility and multi-tasking.

  • Good written and verbal communication, negotiation and networking skills.

  • Ability to focus on fine detail and complete tasks with minimal errors.

  • Available to travel to tradeshows and vendor locations as needed.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

  • Familiarity with hobby games or toy industry products preferred.

 

COMPENSATION: $38,000-$42,000 d/o experience
